Come enjoy breakfast and great company on a beautiful private property in Leander with nesting Golden-cheeked warblers. TAS members will lead participants on guided hikes; those that prefer not to hike can stay and enjoy the porch, which overlooks a small meadow and feeder station. Main target species is the GCWA, but we will have many other Hill Country residents, as well as spring migrants; past years we've had over 40 species during our Birdathon morning.
We will probably wrap up by noon, but will go longer if needed to try to get every participant “on” a GCWA if at all possible.
Birdathon is Travis Audubon’s most entertaining way to engage in our mission to protect native birds! Teams of birders compete to see as many birds during one trip as possible. All registration fees and team donations benefit Travis Audubon. All skill levels are welcome to start a team, join an existing one, or compete as an individual. Anyone can join a team or create their own!
