Join a a small group of birders at TPWD’s newest acquisition, Wildlife Management Area and State Park, with Daniel Walker of TPWD. Powderhorn WMA and SP are in Calhoun County and about 3 hours from Austin. We will meet at the WMA entrance at 8:00 A.M. on Saturday, April 23, and group into as few vehicles as possible. Plan to bird the property until around 3:00 P.M. We will be a good distance from any facilities so bring your lunch and snacks, water, sturdy boots, and dress for the weather. We will be birding a variety of habitats including lake, bay and coastal oaks. Migration will be in full swing, so with any luck we should see a migrant or two.
Before the trip, more information will be forwarded to attendees regarding the meeting location, nearby hotels, and other birding locations nearby. This team will bird on Saturday, April 23, 8:00 AM – 3:00 PM. The fee to register for this team is $100, but if you wish you are welcome to provide an additional donation! This team is limited to 12 participants. All participants must comply with Travis Audubon's COVID-19 events policy.
