$125 per person, max. 9 people

Do you need to add a lifer to your bird list? Here’s your opportunity to visit The Nature Conservancy’s Refugio-Goliad Prairie Project, where we will be viewing Attwater’s Prairie Chickens in the wild!

Join us for an exceptional adventure exploring the conservation wonders of the Conservancy’s Goliad and Refugio project, guided by TNC’s own Working Lands Program Director. Delve into an 8-hour immersive tour where you'll witness the captivating display of "booming" Prairie Chickens, alongside other enchanting upland game birds, waterfowl, and songbirds. Our journey then extends southward to catch glimpses of the majestic Whooping Cranes along the coast, accompanied by a variety of shorebirds and raptors. Along the way, we may also pause at additional conservation properties, enriching our experience further.

Lunch will be a delightful stop on our itinerary [not included in fee], allowing us to refuel before we return to Austin in the late afternoon. Chris Gunter and Jeff Patterson will be your birding guides on this one-of-a-kind visit to South Texas.

Detailed directions and additional information will be provided before the event. We will convene in Goliad at 6:30 AM to commence our tour. Considering the early start, we recommend attendees stay at the Goliad Best Western Hotel the night before. Breakfast arrangements are at your discretion. Local transportation for the group will be arranged.

A portion of the registration proceeds will contribute to TNC as a token of appreciation for their gracious hosting of this event.
