The County Vagrants will head to Nacogdoches for their Birdathon on April 21. We are hoping for 10 or
more species of breeding warblers, early spring migrants, 6 or more woodpeckers, Brown-headed
Nuthatch and possibly even Bachman's Sparrow. And since some of us are county listers, trying to get to
100 species there, we are going to bird hard and long. Knowing that you have our backs will help us get
over the mid-afternoon slump!
DrBirdie aka Byron Stone, aka Sparrowman (and shorebird, hummingbird and raptor enthusiast) will take
the lead and organizer Jane Tillman will try not to stop him from birding until we drop. Team members are
hawk-eyed Alberto Manterola, Jimma Byrd (aptly named), wizard Skip Mencio, Steffercat Barko and Jim
Stoneking (spotter extraordinaire), Mark Lyon (spouse of a birder), former TAS field trip pro Ken Zaslow
coming in from New Mexico, recently retired Flo Rice, Hemant (photo king) and Chaitra Kulkarni, and

Hemant’s bro flying in especially for this event! If you know one or more of us, please support our team.
