Dear friends and supporters of birds,

Once again this April, Barbara Anderson and Anne Donovan are leading a group of friends for 4 days of birding in the area of High Island, Sabine Woods, and the Bolivar Peninsula.  In addition to seeing lots of great birds with great friends, this is our effort to raise money for Travis Audubon's programs of conservation, education, and habitat preservation for birds and other wildlife.  It is known as their Bird-a-Thon, and our team is dubbed the High Island Hoppers. We hope you will contribute to this very worthy cause by  donating a fixed amount to Travis Audubon or by pledging an amount per bird species seen on the Bird-a-thon Day of our trip.  Last year we were so inspired by one donor's pledge of $1 per species, that we worked well into the dinner hour to reach 100.  We made it and he was so impressed by out efforts that he doubled his pledge!!!!  Of course we are also inspired $.10 or $.20 per bird.  We and Travis Audubon and the birds do appreciate your support in any amount.

You can make your donation or pledge on the Travis Audubon website or by check to Barbara or Anne.

The members of our team are Barbara Anderson, Anne and John Donovan, Elaine Rushing, Nell Martin, Sarah Garrett, Catfish Kelly, Nancy Anderson, Catchy and Porter McCall, Jackie Davis, Mary Lou Ramsey, and Judy and Dick Nerf.
Thanks so much.
