Get acquainted with common backyard birds that are here year-round, along with some of the winter visitors that grace our neighborhoods.

Perhaps you are beginning to notice backyard birds and want to be confident of your identification. You picked up a field guide, and found there were too many choices to be sure. Maybe you are wondering what species you can attract with various seed mixes. You’d like to know which birds are singing so loudly before dawn, and what sounds like a miniature horse whinnying after dusk.

In this class, you will get tips on how to identify Austin’s expected backyard birds. You will also get advice on how to attract them by providing water, supplemental food, native plants, and shelter. The class includes lots of resources to steer you to websites, apps, books and magazines. As is typical of Travis Audubon classes, most materials will be provided electronically for download. You will have fun and gain an enhanced appreciation for our central Texas birds. The lecture portion of this class will be offered through Zoom Web Conferencing, and you need a computer with internet connection and Zoom downloaded. It is nice to have a camera on your laptop or computer, but not essential.

All attendees will receive a coupon for a free 2 pound bag of No-Mess Seed Blend courtesy of Wild Birds Unlimited - West Lake Hills.

If you have any questions, please contact Matt at msuatxmlaw@gmail.com.
