Birding 102 - February 2017 - Granger Lake

02/11/2017 06:15 AM - 04:00 PM CT

Summary

February Birding 102
$25 Members only who have graduated from Intro to Birds

Description

The February Birding 102 field trip will be in the Granger Lake area on February 11. We’re targeting Mountain Plovers and Burrowing Owl but we will see other cool birds too. In addition to our target species, some of the species that we will likely see include Hooded Merganser, Sandhill Crane, Say’s Phoebe, Horned Lark, and all sorts of ducks, raptors and sparrows.

This is a great winter birding location but it can also be very cold! We’ll meet very early in Austin and carpool to Granger. A lot of the birding will be along county roads, so all participants should be willing to carpool so that we can get into the fewest cars possible. At some point, we’ll break for a picnic lunch and then end about mid-afternoon.

The field trip is only open to graduates of Travis Audubon’s Intro to Birds classes who are members of Travis Audubon. Tuition is $25. Feel free to join now if you’re not already a member! You must be logged in to your account to register. Click here to log in!
