Baker Sanctuary is one of Travis Audubon’s three wildlife sanctuaries and a special place for conservation in Central Texas. This 715-acre preserve was the first property in the world protected specifically for the endangered Golden-cheeked Warbler.

Join Travis Audubon Land Steward and Educator, Chris Murray, to help remove invasive plants, maintain trails, and care for this important habitat.

What to Expect

• All tools, equipment, and training are provided.
• Volunteer activities may include trail maintenance and invasive plant removal.
• No prior experience is necessary.

What to Bring

• Closed-toe shoes
• Comfortable outdoor clothing suitable for the weather
• Hat, sunscreen, and insect repellent
• A refillable water bottle

Youth Volunteers

Travis Audubon welcomes youth volunteers and encourages families to participate together.

• Youth ages 10–17 are welcome when accompanied by a parent or guardian.
• Children ages 14 and under must have a responsible adult present throughout the event.
• Due to the nature of the work, children under age 10 may not participate.
• A parent or guardian must complete the required liability waiver for all youth volunteers.
