Flock Party Friday at Richard Moya Park

05/08/2026 08:00 AM - 10:00 AM CT

Description

It's Birdathon, and what better place to grow your life list than at Richard Moya Park? This former pecan orchard has a mix of riparian area, grassland, and large trees, so it supports a variety of birds. You never know what you will find, but we usually see a few Eastern Bluebirds.

During this Flock Party Friday, you'll be guided to some of the best birding spots in the park. We will be walking on mix of surfaces that include concrete and grass. The terrain is mostly flat.

Please meet at pavilion 3, pinned here, at 8am. We'll have a Travis Audubon table set up near the pavilion if you'd like to chat with Travis Audubon staff or purchase some Bird of the Year merchandise. From there, the group will go on a bird walk led by our wonderful volunteers Rene Bartos, Jonathan Goudeau, and Ashley Oheim.

For the safety of wildlife and the quality of the experience, pets are not permitted on field trips or bird walks. We appreciate your understanding.
