Join Shelia Hargis to explore the bird behavior at Reimers Ranch. Reimers Ranch is situated along the Pedernales River and has several different habitat types. We’ll visit various habitat types, and we’ll take time to observe and discuss behavior as we encounter it. Breeding season will be winding down for most species, but there should still be some young birds around, maybe even still begging from their parents.
The entry fee to the park is $5 and must be paid in cash. Bathrooms are available at the park. We will be mostly walking on paved or gravel trails. Sturdy shoes are recommended. Expect to walk about one to two miles. This walk is open to all levels of birders and is free, but registration is required and limited to 12 participants. Contact Shelia at Shelia.hargis@gmail.com with any questions.
Shelia Hargis has been birding for over 25 years and was inspired early on by Travis Audubon field trips, developing a passion for both bird identification and behavior. A past president of Travis Audubon and the Texas Ornithological Society and recipient of Travis Audubon’s 2020 Victor Emanuel Conservation Award, she brings deep experience, enthusiasm, and a love of all birds—common or rare—to every walk she leads.
