Head to Travis Audubon’s Blair Woods Nature Preserve in east Austin for a morning of birding and yoga. We’ll meditate and work on standing poses while on the preserve’s trails. This will be very beginner-friendly in terms of both yoga and birding, so unlike with typical yoga classes, no mats are needed. This will be a gentle, all yoga levels experience.
Ashika is a yoga educator, community care practitioner, and birder who creates welcoming, accessible spaces rooted in connection, autonomy, and joy. Shaped by her Gujarati, Maharashtrian, North Carolinian, and Texan roots, her work reflects a deep appreciation for the relationship between mind, body, community, and the natural world. Her interest in birding began with the pigeon, her spark bird, which led to a growing appreciation for the everyday wildlife around us. Through mindful movement, breath, and shared observation outdoors, she invites participants to slow down, feel at home in their bodies, and connect more deeply with their surroundings.
