Birdathon: Backyard Birding for Kids

Parents and Grandparents:  Do you ever wish you had started birding earlier?  Help develop an interest in birds in your 9 to 12 year olds.  Register them for this Saturday morning adventure in Nancy Townsend’s garden and backyard.

Expert volunteers will introduce them to the basics of birding, learn birding etiquette, and identify birds by sight and sound and how to use their binoculars.  They will explore various eating habits of birds, make a birdfeeder, and learn care of their feeders.

They will have a great morning including a healthy midmorning snack.  Parents are invited stay and enjoy a cup of coffee in the garden.

Nancy lives on Lakemoore Drive which backs up to Bull Creek Park, a great birding habitat.
