1. Baker Sanctuary

Baker Sanctuary is a 715-acre preserve in Northwest Travis County, owned and managed by Travis Audubon as part of the Balcones Canyonlands Preserve. It contains prime Golden-cheeked Warbler habitat.

Spring brings Golden-cheeked Warblers, neotropical warblers, vireos, and flycatchers. Dense canopy means plenty of “ear birding.”

Trails range from level paths with benches to moderately difficult terrain. Golden-cheeked Warblers arrive mid-March and depart by July.
